Wedding Dance Instruction

Wedding dance instruction is fun and exciting for both the bride and groom when taught with an understanding that the happy couple wants to look their best to their special song with a minimum of effort and expense.

We know what you're going through and we can help you fast and efficiently and perhaps you'll enjoy dancing so much youWedding First Dance Instruction may even want to continue your dancing after that first dance is under your belt!

Most of our beginner couples sign-up for five hour-long sessions.

The first session is spent familiarizing the couple with basic walking steps for the dance of their choice determined by their music. Some of our couples ask us for suggestions for songs and we are happy to oblige although we do want your song to reflect your special feelings for each other not just something you think is "danceable".

Below are some of the songs our couples have used recently:

  • Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You by Jimmy Somerville
  • Heaven by Bryan Adams
  • It Had to Be You by Rod Stewart
  • Unforgettable by Nat King Cole
  • Come What May Moulin Rouge Soundtrack
  • Can't Help Falling In Love by Elvis
  • Ice Cream by Sarah McLachlan
  • The Best Is Yet To Come by Frank Sinatra

David and JillianThe second and third sessions concentrate on patterns and tips and tricks to keep the couple dancing smoothly and confidently. Most of our couples agree that they don't really want to look like they took dance lessons, they just want to look like they can dance!

The fourth session is spent on entrances and exits and any specialty moves like dips, leans, leg wraps, and drags. And the fifth session is for practice, practice, practice to the music and some good directorial choices for presenting a romantic and fun bride and groom to relatives and friends.

We also offer father/daughter and mother/son dance instruction and quite often we'll get the bridesmaids and the groomsmen in for a lesson or two so they can have fun dancing at the reception.

One best man came in for five lessons so he could successfully lead all the attractive bridesmaids! And many a father of the bride and groom has brushed-up on his foxtrot and swing for a rousing father/daughter or daughter-in-law dance!
